Identical twins - 100% genetic relatedness: fraternal twins- 50, therefore, identical twins have a higher chance of contracting it. Acquired through classical conditioning and maintained through operant conditioning (11/28: once the fear is acquired they avoid the stimulus in order to relieve themselves of the anxiety, avoidance results in negative reinforcement. Cognitive distortions- over interpreting harmless situations as threats. Dissociative disorders: people lose access to portions of their consciousness or memory resulting in, dissociative amnesia. Sudden loss of memory of important personal information that is too important to be tied to simply forgetting: dissociative fugue. People lose their memory and personal identity but can still perform simple tasks, motor memory is still existent: dissociative identity disorder. Very controversial, many people don"t believe it actually exists: only a few doctors diagnose patients with this illness. Coexistence of two or more marginally complete personalities in one person, these personalities are called alters. People are incapable of integrating various parts of their personality.
