Students will identify the primary consultants architect use. Students will understand the role of design review boards and other regulatory agencies. After a careful analysis of the client"s building program, project site and financial resources, the design team is ready to begin the design process. Schematic design is the development of preliminary conceptual design solutions that solve the architectural problem stated in the program, with the end result the client"s approval (know this). Architectural design is the process of creating and developing physical structures that accommodate the desired human activities, in a comfortable environment. Most designs strive for a project that is aesthetically pleasing, possibly an artistic masterpiece, but overall the project must be very functional and within financial constraints.
