Argument: a chain of thought in which reasons (called premises ) are offered in support of a particular conclusion. Validity: an argument is logically valid if the truth of its premises guarantees the truth of its conclusion. Soundness: an argument is sound if it is valid and all of its premises guarantees the truth of its conclusion. Trolley problem (classic)- trolley is headed towards 5 people, but you can flip the switch and make the trolley swerve to only hit 1 person. Mary the brilliant neuroscientist: mary lives in black and white, has never seen color. But, she studies color and how it works. He gets a vanilla ice cream cone and is happy. He didn"t know, but they were out of other flavors.
