Personality of psychology: the scienti c study of the psychological forces that make people uniquely themselves. Scienti c inference: the use of systematically gathered evidence to test theories. Deductive approach: an approach to psychology in which the conclusions follow logically from the premises or assumptions: systematic empirical research. Inductive approach: an approach to psych in which observations are systematically collected and concepts are developed based on what the data reveals: analogies or concepts borrowed from related disciplines. Anthropology plays a part, as well as freudian father/son con ict.
