Entering boston university, i did not know much about writing college-level papers. Since i have been interested in pokemon my entire life, i wanted to treat this writing course like that. Since pokemon is all about facing daily challenges and going on a journey, i acted as a pokemon trainer yearning to become a pokemon trainer, in the same way i wanted to master my writing skills from this course. In pokemon, each pokemon creature evolves through phases as it undergoes training from its master. This portfolio shows my development in writing based on three phases. Part of my development in writing includes the ability to create powerful arguments and theses, structuring the essays well, making good use of evidence, transitioning between paragraphs, and getting rid of irrelevant information. In the beginning of the semester, i wondered what type of material would be covered in this course.
