Medicare is a health insurance through retirement. Life expectancy has almost doubled in the last 100 years. Infectious disease was the greatest killer back then. In 1900, 40% of all deaths were children under 5. Recognition of health hazards in our diets and environments. Common causes of death are mostly all very controllable based on lifestyle choices. However, health is also impacted by environments, society, policy, and more. The medical model views health on both the individual and biological diseased organ perspective. The public health model views health as a result of the individual choices. There is a great amount of money involved, and it affects a large spectrum. Believes that health is dynamic and always changing to adapt to the social and physical environment.
