Good stress- bad stress: stress has a bad rep, but some stress can be good for you, inverted u relationship with performance. If we have a medium amount of stress we will probably perform well. Little bursts of stress are actually good for us. Bad stress, chronic, at a steady level, eats away at you constantly. Hans selye and the general adaptation syndrome: alarm. Immediate jolt you get from experiencing a stressor. Cognitive clarity, good reaction time, racing heartbeat, muscular stress: resistance. We have a constant barrage of stressors and we are coping as well as we can. Arousal system and rest and repair system are not working very well. We worry about things in advance: exhaustion. A decrease in what you are doing for yourself. Are you taking care of everything cal poly wants you to do.
