Friedan to refer to supposed threat from lesbians joining the organization. Late 1970s: feminist argument center on sex and porn. Women against violence in pornography and media (wavpm) equated all porn with violent against women. Sex-positive side argue that women have the right to choose to participate in a wider variety of sexual acts, including porn and that such activity does not automatically equate with losing power. Both sides agree that forcing or coercing women into sexual acts is violence and oppression. Does not generally have sexual relationships with men, then a lesbian separatist is a woman who has social relationships with men only under conditions of necessity. Women who felt oppress by men, only want women only space, But easier said than done bc we live together.
