Discrimination can be based on prejudice; denial of rights, privileges, and opportunities to people of a group. 1964 civil rights act made it illegal to discriminate in employment, education, public accommodation, etc. Race group of people with shared characteristic and a common bloodline (usually physical) Racism members of one race are unequal to other races. Is racism predictable: less educated people tend to be more prejudice, people that live in urban areas tend to be less prejudice than people that live in rural areas.
