Whenever you"re in conflict with someone, there is one factor that can make the difference between damaging your relationship and deepening it- that factor is attitude. (william james) Traditionalist-- the folks that view conflict as bad (sad face), they try to avoid conflict. Humanist-- the people that view conflict as a normal part of life or relationship, something that you can expect to happen (neutral on conflict) Interactionist-- the people that view conflict as a normal part of interacting but as a good thing (happy face) Communication: quality of communication, how often do they talk, listening problem, paying attention. Sex: frequency (adults have sex once a week on average), quality. Money: who is paying for what, who spends it on what. Dol: division of labor (choirs), who is doing what, how often (frequency), quality. Source: prior conditions (your personal luggage, your background)
