Seeds, trees, death; rebirth / resurrection (fertility if all) Innana: queen of heaven, goddess of love and war. Innana & the shepherd god, dumuzi , her lover. Ereshkigal condemns her to death; sex on earth stops. Says to gate keeper: have innana observe the ancient rites. Dumuzi takes her place in the underworld. Similar to rape of persephone / homeric hymn to demeter. Search for innana"s replacement - search for persephone. Isis and her husband / brother osiris. Osiris lived > dies > trough new resurrected phallus lives again. Isis ruled egypt when osiris went away. Build mummy case that will only fit osiris. Isis get her husband"s coffin, takes it and hides it in the marches. Isis sets out to find the pieces. Every time she found one she built a temple to osiris. Recovered 13/14 pieces - all pieces except for penis.
