The sphenodontidae were rather diverse during the late. Jurassic fossils -- there has been little change in the appearance of sphenodontids over the last 150 million years! The great mountain range since cambrian is the himalaya. The cretaceous period 146 to 65 ma (the last period of the mesozoic era) We are at the end of the line for the dinosaurs.
