Document Summary

In my opinion, the gay rights movement is not the same as the movements for african american civil rights or the fight for woman"s rights. When the african americans were fighting for their rights, it started from the time period of slavery, where the africans were kept constrained and had suffered from the tortures of such a practice. Gay people aren"t kept restricted and they aren"t tortured like the africans were. They are only denied the rights to be open in public or to get married however they want. If a gay person was white, they aren"t segregated like the africans faced even after slavery. During segregation, blacks and whites were kept separate, even the facilities were away from one another and they received poor quality facilities. Gays today, do not face such a separation, where different fountains are provided to them or they are made to go different schools.
