Your patient today is angela from the first case study. Today she came to discuss the results of the ultrasound and blood tests that she did last week - a. 2 hour 75g. glucose test, a cbc test and antibodies screen: her results are, hgb is 10. 3 g/dl; hct 31. 2%; platelets 160,000/ml , antibodies negative, blood glucose: fasting 88; 1hr. Angela is experiencing a lot of braxton hicks contractions and is concerned about possibility of preterm labor. When the midwife comes in, she listens to angela"s concerns and reassures her that braxton. Hicks contractions that she is experiencing are normal, as they are not painful or regular. She recommends that she drinks more water and notifies the office if contractions become painful and regular coming every 15 minutes or more often. She also gives the order for angela to get a rhogam injection, and gives her prescription for iron supplementation. At a 32-week appointment angela"s blood pressure is 144/90.
