COM 111 Lecture Notes - Lecture 1: Nonverbal Communication, Farjana, Interpersonal Communication
Document Summary
Com-111-941 | winter 2019 | rosemary rys | farjana nipa. Non-verbal and verbal communication are important aspects of our daily lives. It"s a way of exchanging information through common systems, formal documentation, symbols, or behavior-based signs. In most public communication the setting is formal. People make use of both non-verbal and verbal communication to get their message across. To observe communication in a public setting, i went to a public library near me. When i walked in, i greeted the librarian with a hand wave and he waved me back with a smile. As i went closer to him he asked me how i was doing and how things are going. I replied to his question with a soft tone. This conversation can be described as interpersonal communication, which occurs on a one-to-one basis between two people, though it may include more than two (types of communication).
