WBDV 220 Lecture Notes - Lecture 6: Paper Prototyping, Usability
Document Summary
Week 5 recap: micro-details and wow moments, mental models, wireframes. We are still exploring - not a commitment to the design/end result of project. Validate your design ideas: microdetails, wow moments. Clearly de nes the scope for estimating development work. Prototypes start quick and basic, then gradually increase in complexity as ideas mature and directions solidify. Lo- delity - a quick draft that is much less accurate to end state goal but help sells the idea. High delity - a re ned design that is as close as possible to the end state. The higher the delity, the more useful the feedback. Paper prototyping fast no code required allows for quick re nement encourages creativity on user and developer. Approaching the user let the person know why you are doing the interview don"t ask any leading questions use the script as a guide not a bible keep it to less than an hour leave time between interviews.
