Trawling entails dragging immense cone-shaped nets through the water, with weights at the bottom and oats at the top to keep nets open. One is that shing eets have been travelling longer distances along with deep waters. Within reservoir boundaries: produce rapid increases in abundance, diversity and productivity, decrease mortality and habitat destruction, lessen the likelihood of extirpation of species. Outside of boundaries: create spillover effect when individuals of protected species spread outside, allow larvae of species protected to seed the seas. Littoral zone the region ringing the edge of a water body; water is shallow enough for plants to grow form the mud and reach over the surface. Benthic zone extends along the bottom of the entire water body, from shore to deepest point; invertebrates live here feeding off the bottom. Limnetic zone open portion of a lake or pond, away from shore, sunlight penetrates the shallow water; it supports phytoplankton which supports zooplankton (feeds sh)
