Document Summary
Galen description of heart = prominent liver w/ many spirits. Vesalius description of heart = more modern. Carries oxygen + nutrients to body tissues. Removes co2 + other waste + heat from tissues. All veins of systemic circulation drain into superior or inferior vena cava or coronary sinus. Pericardium of midline right of midline right of midline.
