Seems that using techniques like this tend to increase number of alters someone reports. Suggests that some treatment techniques reinforce the idea of multiple alters and increase the number people experience: popular media plays a role in increases in diagnoses. Happen when other areas of the brain shrink, suggesting brain deterioration with schizophrenia: associated with thought disturbances. Decreases in temporal lobe: neurotransmitter differences. Serotonin: genetic influences, being the offspring of someone with schizophrenia increases the likelihood of having it, siblings have a 1 in 10 changes, 10x higher than average person, twin studies.
