Much more than when the negative feedback person watches them: there is some indication that kids (about 2 years old) are starting to change the way they act depending on who their audience is and be strategic. Resolving identity crises (if you are juggling your persona and who you truly are: 2 steps, decide which values are most important to you, align self with values via actions, ex: equality . Identity deficit- when a person has not formed an adequate identity and has trouble making decisions (ex: should i go to college or not?) Identity conflict- involves an incompatibility between two or more aspects of identity. Identity crises (both deficits and conflicts) arise during adolescence. Take home message: 3 components of self, distinct, yet interrelated.
