PSYCHOLOGICAL
Freud was a neurologist that moved over into psychology. He invented the talking cure,
where people would talk with him to help with their neurosis. He later started started studying
dreams.
Dreams have meaning.
CHARACTERS (PSYCHIC ENERGY)
1. Id
a. Libido
b. The drive to life. There is a psychological agent that drives us to change things.
i. Change = create and destroy
1. You cannot have one without the other
c. The biggest change is birth/death.
d. (OTHER CHARACTER)
2. Ego
a. I
b. The I within me/the me within me.
c. The I within me need to keep the id and the superego coexisting within me. That is
when I am at my best/at my peak level.
i. There must be compromise to satisfy the id and superego at the same time.
ii. We create ourselves through our choices.
d. (THIS WOULD BE LIKE THE PROTAGONIST)
3. Superego
a. We all want to be good. Whatever our belief-system is for good, we want to fulfill
that.
b. We are raised with one belief, but might later change it when we grow up.
i. That is the superego.
c. Also called The church of the mind/the police force of the mind.
d. (OTHER CHARACTER, LIKE PRU IN THE POWER OF TWO)

1. Conscious
a. Aware of my thoughts
b. Left brain
i. A symbol for this would be a castle, for example.
2. Preconscious
a. Is not the same as conscience.
b. It is what to the preconscious to decide what goes from the unconscious to the
conscious.
i. A symbol for this would be the keymaker for the door leading outside the
castle.
