National brotherhood week : t: who do we not teacher like brothers, s: black people, s: they are treated differently because they are a different color. Teacher does an experiment to test a theory and said because i have blue eyes, blue eyed people are better than brown eyed people. Brown eyed kid hit a blue eyed kid because the blue eyed kid called the brown eyed kid. Brown eyes : neither kid felt better after the fact. T: thoughtful children turned into nasty third graders within 15 minutes. Using power to empower one group and another group inferior. Oppression hurts all of us, just in different ways. Passive anti-oppression does not exist: we are either working against it or colluding with it. Privilege: advantages that are unearned and you can"t give back, if you don"t have to think about it, it"s a privilege.
