Pattern of behavior to gain power and control over another individual through any means necessary. Anyone can be an abuser: rich, poor, educated, white, black, brother. True cause of abusiveness: the way he thinks. He is controlling: decisions/ arguments, personal freedom. Going out for a girl"s night, she should be grateful that i let her do that: parenting. The abuser knows it all, his is the best way: he holds your best interest. The abuser says i don"t want you to go out because there is a lot of crime at night, he"s saying it"s in your best interest not to leave the house. He feels entitled: he sees himself above women and children. He confuses love and abuse: his feeling of love . Desire to have you devote your life to keeping him happy. Impressing others by having you as his partner.
