Document Summary

Bronchioles are always open because of cartilage, can have bronchodilation and bronchoconstriction, Short diffusion difference, sufficient movement of oxygen and co2. Oxygen gets into the blood through alveoli. Movement of air in and out of lungs and cellular respiration. Ventilation- movement of air in and out of lungs. Speech- being able to control air movement across the larynx (voice box), the folds of tissue in the larynx can vibrate and produces sound, we shape that with tongue and lips. Clot filter- most common place is in the veins. Lung is not dependent on the blood for oxygen, and produces a lot of fibrinolytic enzymes so it can break down the clots. Van salva- close openings of the larynx causes pressure in the thoracic cavity, acts as support, defecation, and urination. Vocal cords are ligaments covered in mucus membrane, control skeletal muscles which control tension which relates to pitch.
