Someimes character breaks the fourth wall and plays the role of the narrator (audience learns the story in real ime as the character experiences it) Plot, characters, thought (theme), dicion (language), music (rhythm) and spectacle (the notable performance element) Climax: when the major dramaic quesion of the play is answered. Protagonist: main character in the play whose story we follow (not interchangeable with the word hero ) Antagonist: gets in character"s way, makes it diicult for them to fulill the major dramaic quesions (ex: laertes, claudius and ophelia in hamlet) Ing nue: young lovers, usually innocent (ex: romeo + juliet, tony & maria) Foil: sidekick character shown as a contrast to the protagonist. Purpose is to highlight the characterisics in a lead (ex: horaio from hamlet) Conident: character to conide in to show inner feelings (ex: nurses, handmaids, and soldiers in shakespeare"s works. Ani-hero: does heroic things but is not hero (this deiniion needs work)
