Document Summary

Asking for gratuity (providing guidelines for how much is 15%, 20%, etc. ) will often give back higher tips as a result. Planning fallacy- yes, i"ll finish my term paper on time, and i won"t need to pull an all-nighter". Ways to mediate: divide project in parts and estimate time for each; try thinking how long somebody else would take to do all this. Social facilitation- if there are other people around you physiologically aroused, enhanced tendency to perform dominant (default) response, and if the dominant response is correct, then you do better, if the dominant response is incorrect, then performance is impaired. Guys who stand right next to each other to pee, they take longer to start peeing but take a shorter amount of time to pee. You"ll do better on practiced tasks in social environment; but if you want to be really creative (have new ideas) you better be alone.
