Review session a week from this friday at normal class time (12/8 at 10 am) Against biblical higher criticism (had particular doctrine of scripture -- against people who say the bible as a historical document, but viewed it as the word of god) Very intolerant of liberals/people who took the bible as historical document. Fundamentalists believe everything in the bible as fact penned by. Fundamentalist does not simply mean a very conservative protestant -- but one that wanted the liberals out of their denomination. Important because the mainline denominations were very diverse theologically, which remains true to this day (george bush) Communism is materialist, evangelicalism is not (believes in spiritual determination of history) Social improvement -- pre-millennialism would make you anti-communist. Whether or not you can have an ideal world on earth before the coming of jesus. Very opposed to the idea that humans could create a utopia on.
