: a critical case study analysis of the september 29th movement. Many in the iowa state university community celebrated when the old botany hall changed to the carrie chapman catt hall, others not so much. Instead, a group of students pushed to arrange a new naming process due to carrie lane chapman catt being a member of a white supremacist group. All of this occurred during the women"s suffrage movement. The petition, to change the name of the hall, was created by isu students for the. Nancy camarillo, the office of multicultural student affairs. Program coordinator, gave her opinion of the topic saying that catt referred to american indians as savages. She also went on to explain that the decision to name the hall after catt was controversial from the beginning. The september 29th movement , was a march held on isu"s campus.
