Hardness how difficult it is to scratch: moh"s scale high number = harder mineral (talc = 1, diamond = 10, tools are used in the field to determine hardness (penny, nail, etc. ) Luster how reflective or shiny: dull, silky, metallic, greasy, pearly, etc.
