Birth rate = the annual number of births 1,000 people. Total fertility rate = the average number of children that a woman bears in her lifetime. Crude death rate = the annual number of deaths per 1,000 people in a designated area or population. Infant mortality rate the annual number of deaths of infants less than one year of age for every 1,000 infants born alive. Maternal mortality = the death of a woman, while pregnant or within 42 days of a termination of pregnancy, from any cause. Migration = the movement of people from one residence to another. Brain drain = the emigration from a country of the most educated and talent people. Push factors = the conditions that encourage people to move out of a geographic area. Pull factors = the conditions the encourage people to move into an area.
