A student with a language struggle or communication disorder might have a difficult time: Speaking loud enough for others to hear. Sharing ideas in a way that others can understand them. Reading, writing or hearing what others are saying. Language disorder: difficult or inability to master the various systems of rules in language, which then interferes with communication. Language disorders might involve difficulties with: form- the rule system of language such as word order, meaning and ending. Students with a communication disorder might struggle with their academics and in the social environments. A speech disorder is an impairment in the sounds produced for communication. In their non-academics because of: difficultly understanding instructions, particularly those with multiple steps, walk single file to the doors. Do not go out until the playground monitor signals you. In a social setting because of: communication breakdowns, ostracized by classmates who are frustrated with communicative difficulties.
