Models: start with a theoretical construct (abstract thing) We all believe that there is this thing" called a working memory" which is an abstract construct (which means it"s a real phenomenon but not easily measured or defined) Because of this, different psychologists, have different definitions of working memory" and think they do different things: create a concrete analogy to guide exploration of the construct. Cognitive processing models: cognition occurs in a series of stages, each stage is hypothetical entity . Ex: perceive, decide, respond: stages receive information from previous stage, info is transformed and passed to the next stage. So, you must have a model for working memory so it is standardized entity entity. You need to look at the person to see if you will swipe right or not. Second entity: think and make a decision to swipe right or left.
