ACCTG 1 Lecture Notes - Lecture 14: Diencephalon, For Against, Mental Calculation
Document Summary
There are many different forms of memory: declarative memory (medial temporal lobe & diencephalon), also known as episodic memory. A form a memory for facts & figures: nondeclarative memory, classical conditioning of skeletal musculature and emotional responses. Also, procedural memory which involves skills and habits: working memory (pre-frontal cortex), also known as short term memory, information is held in brain for use at that specific moment. For example, mental arithmetic. center light (not used) stimulus lights (not used) Animals can be used to model diseases which affect memory, for example alzheimer"s. This can be done using mazes such as a water maze or a radial maze. Animals can also be used to model working memory. This could be done via a skinner box. This box will contain various items, levers and lights. There are several phases when experimenting with skinner boxes.
