Late 1950"s early 1960"s- feminist movement begins to change- gender roles changing due to. Wwii- women going into the workplace- once men come back big push for women to go back to their pedestal. Feminine mystique- exposes the unhappiness and unfulfillment of women. Leads many women to become involved in activism. Cultural and sexual revolution- changed the political landscape in the us. Push for greater access to birth control and for women"s rights.
