Motor control (function: is about functions, the coordination and activation of muscular, skeletal, and neurological functions to produce movements in that particular moment. Is about age related changes and functions: human developmental issues related to either motor control or motor learning. It provides you with a basis for establishing generalizations or principles about how we learn motor skills. Enables you to develop theories about skill performance and learning. Establishes guidelines for instructors, coaches, therapists about how to develop effective strategies to enhance motor skill learning. What is a motor skill: action goal and for a purpose, performed voluntarily, if it is a reflex, than it isn"t a motor skill. *a reflex can be part of a motor skill, but not the motor skill itself: requires movement of body, head, and/or limb(s) to achieve the action goal. This shows a distinction between movement and motor skills. Goal directed activities that involve body, head and/or limb movements.
