Magnification/minimization: magnifies and exaggerates his/her weaknesses/flaws -- all they think about -- minimize and overlook strengths and good qualities. Personalization: blames themselves for something they have nothing to do with -- ex. abusive relationships. Filtering: a filter allowed all positive things to drain out and keeps all negative ones in. Catastrophizing: person always sees a negative reaction about to happen -- damine effect. These people are not very social -- friends with one or two people -- downers -- too negative to be around. Stress: the reaction to a real or perceived threat or challenge. Stress is a choice -- we cause it.
