Victimless crime: example: downloading music and movies for free online, we don"t see it as hurting others. Encouraging discussion in the classroom in understanding both sides of an issue. Believed that moral growth occurs through interactions with one"s environment and progresses through 6 stages. Development through stages s created from our own thinking about moral problems. Social experiences stimulate the mental process, then producing the change. Instrumental: preconventional: these two stages are based heavily on rewards and consequences. 3: law and order, conventional: groupthink comes into play. If friends do it, you are likely to as well: social contract, universal ethical principles, postconventional: socially influenced. Moral reasoning doesn"t always equal moral behavior. Focused more on the morals of caring. Argued that men and women had different sets of moral thinking. Morality of care: system of beliefs about human responsibilities, care and consideration for others. Self interest---> care for others-----> care for all.
