Reading one: social justice by steven e. mayer. Social justice has multiple meanings in which all are abstract with no exact answer. Rooted in religious faith and law & politics. States that under god, all people are equal and deserve respect. The sense that each person has value within a community and should be treated as such. Social just is not a goal to reach but a process in which we are all engaged. The most good for the most amount of people. How the minorities are doing in such a group. Social justice is higher than a society"s legal system but has root within the legal system. Justice is fairness, fair share, fair play, etc. Different social justice groups have different missions but share a common core of equal treatment, a voice in decisions, chances to start over when mess ups occur (forgiveness), and the ability to meet basic needs.
