During the 1990"s, hollywood producers came to realize the tremendous box-office appeal action films had and concentrated on producing more. Steven spielberg was one of the producers who saw action films" popularity at the box- office. He executive produced deep impact & twister while he directed the action adventure sci-fi blockbuster jurassic park. Jurassic park went on to break box-office records. Also in 1990"s, we saw a renaissance in hong kong action films. Hollywood recruited some of the popular hong kong action stars, enticed them with bigger budgets, better production facilities, and promised more exciting action sequences. They also recruited hong kong action directors like john woo. Woo was recruited by tom cruise, who considered woo one of the best action film directors in the world. In the 2000"s actresses found themselves starring in action films right alongside the male actors. With the success of charlie"s angels, hollywood casting agents now looked at actresses as action heroines.
