Motor neurons: sends information to another cell; protection and support of the central nervous system. Bones: protect the brain and the spinal cord. Meninges ( three membranes ): meningitis, overlay of the central nervous system. Blood-brain barrier: capillaries that are extra tightly joined, this is so it does not allow many things through. Cerebrospinal liquid: shock absorber around the brain, recycled. The brain and spinal cord consist of both gray and white matter. In the brain: gray matter on the outside, hold cell bodies.
