Test pattern: an image shown on a television screen or broadcast used to test image correctness and portray a faithful representation of what is seen. There is no test pattern in history. There is no proof or pattern to tell us anything history is true. When looking at history, we must remember it is fallible, or capable of error. History that is not present in archives or history books is forgotten and we can have no knowledge of it. We are not able to test the accuracy of historical information in the same way. We have no objective knowledge of history because we were not there. We also know that our memory of past events deceives us. Fate: the development of events beyond a person"s control. The fates of greek mythology - moirai: the three sisters that determine each person"s fates. Clotho spins the thread of life, determining birth.
