Germany"s pretty broken up, it"s like smaller different countries and crossing it means that you"ll have to pay plenty of tolls etc. Regional divisions hampered german industrial growth, there"s little political unity. Customs union development led by prussia helped to overcome trade barriers. Many states don"t industrialize, not many want to adapt to industry coming in. By the 19th century the ottoman empire was declining, the increased population was their only advantage. Euro powers flooded the empire with cheap industrial goods. Discouraged local ottoman industry, ottomans fell farther behind. London"s population grew to over a million people, the same with paris. Terrible living conditions, terrible pollution, air and water pollution, unsanitary conditions. Gothic architecture is british and should be incorporated into the british image . Patriotism in the 19th century is pretty big. Many people don"t stay in the city. Smallpox vaccination becomes a thing, less expensive foods of high nutritional value.
