Infertility inability to conceive after 1 year of protected intercourse under age of 35: in women over 35, the time frame is 6 months. In about 80% of infertile couples, the cause of infertility is due to an ovulation issue, blockage of the fallopian tubes, or a sperm problem. In about 20% it is unknown why the infertility is occurring. In 1/3 of cases, the issue is something to do with the male partner, in 1/3 of cases it is the female partner and in 1/3 of cases it is both.
