Persistent worry about caregiver being lost or dying. Reluctance to sleep w/o being close to caregiver. Last more than 1 month (but not first month of school) Not due to discomfort with the required language. Severe temper outbursts highly out of proportion with the situation at hand, either in intensity or duration. Must be confirmed with standardized achievement measures. Performance of the affected academic skills is well below average for age, Or acceptable performance is achieved only with extraordinary effort.
