Blood vessels: arteries, thick muscular layer, withstand ventricular pump pressure, q (volume flow rate) = a1(initial cross-sectional area)v1(initial average velocity) = a2(final cross-sectional area)v2(final velocity: peripheral resistance: pressure and counter-pressure, total resistance of all blood vessels, total peripheral resistance (blood vessel constriction) x cardiac output (l/minute)
