Knowledge of interactions we"ve had with object/person in the past, present or future. Behaviors can predict attitudes or determine our attitudes. Self-presentation theory: strategically express attitudes to male them appear consistent with behavior. We have a certain way to make a good impression, then express attitudes that match those actions. Cognitive dissonance theory: change attitude to justify actions, in order to reduce comfort. Tension is experienced when holding two conflicting cognitions. Boring task, negative attitude lie, inconsistent behavior justification and insufficient v sufficient justification. Self-perception theory: observing own behavior to figure out attitudes. Stable individual characteristic that can be used to predict behavior. Inferring our attitudes and feelings based on observations of our behavior initial ambiguity of attitude/feeling.
