The party bases aren"t gonna change their votes. Campaign"s don"t matter; for all the money they do it doesn"t change anything. Poli sci: people voted based on their partisanship; little in the campaign changes this. Vavreck and sides: it"s a dynamic equilibrium. The two campaigns cancel each other out. It"s like a tug of power; if someone stopped pulling then the other side would obviously win. The quality of a campaign won"t put you over the top. The economy; is good for the incumbent party (applies to incumbent and who"s running for reelection) Trump one 28% of the latino vote. Based on edwards lecture, what factors determine the president"s ability to persuade. Mandate, unified government, cohesion in potus party, congressional polarization, cross pressures in opposition party. Against this claim; just because youre a person of color doesnt mean youre going to be a democrat. Knox: newly incorporated groups will maintain their support for democrats.
