While johnson thinks that watching complicated tv makes you smarter, stevens argues that we are just watching complicated tv. She claims that johnson easily dismisses the image of muslim terrorists and torture in the show 24. Stevens does believe that the show causes you to think about future 24 episodes. Finally, she comes to a conclusion when her final argument brings to our attention that we should be able to watch whatever we want because we like the show, not because it will make us smarter . Stevens refutes the idea that watching tv in today"s society actually makes you smarter. Tv plays a huge role today and in many cases, takes over some people"s lives. They live their life around these tv shows.
