In the study, groups of two and three people were created to perform the experiment. The participants were all students at rutgers university and enrolled in the (cid:862) ensations and perceptions(cid:863) lab. The students were randomly selected through individual group assignment. All individuals were between the ages of 18-23 and were of varying races and ethnicities. The participants were partaking due to their need to be involved in the lab as well as concern over data collection so they would be able to interpret it on an individual basis. For the experiment, four different materials were used. There were pre made goggles which had a prism (which displaces light by 11 degrees and were displaced towards the base of the prism) mounted onto the right of the eye. The other eye of the goggle is obscured by tape. This was used to obscure the vision of the participant. A wooden box with two open ends was used as well.
