Lancing michigan study: police seemed more oriented toward self control and obedance than an average citizen, more interested in personal goals like an exciting life. Dirty harry syndrome: illegal actions taken to achieve what is believed to be good. First day on the job: negative: 80% believe efficient and smooth, 50% believed supervisor will help and care for them. Police stress: stress is the bodys normal state. Fight or flight: bodies reaction to highly stressful conditions. Stress: lack of conditioning after academy, poor diets.
